cleaning your phoneEveryone knows the frustration of trying to use a dirty touchscreen on a cell phone. It doesn’t respond correctly, it is hard to see, and it can make you want to throw your phone across the room and scream. Before tossing your cell phone out the window, follow these simple life hacks for cleaning your cell phone screen quickly and easily.

The Right Cloth

The key to getting your screen back to looking like new is with a lint free microfiber cloth. Never use a paper towel to clean your cell phone screen. The paper-based materials can scratch the glass of your screen and leave behind a mess of lint and debris. Investing in a cheap screen cloth will be the best thing you have done for your cell phone.

Deep Clean

If your phone is really gunked up, you will need to take more drastic measures. If you can, remove the battery and place it somewhere safe. If you cannot remove the battery, turn off your phone. Use your microfiber cloth and dampen it with a little bit of water. Lightly wipe the outside of your screen and case. Never use harsh chemicals. It may break down the special coating that is on the outside of your screen.

Dry Completely

If you have added a bit too much water to your microfiber cloth, let your phone dry thoroughly before turning it back on. Never turn on your phone while it is wet. If your phone accidentally has fallen into the water, let it dry overnight before attempting to turn it back on. Turning on a wet phone can lead to irreversible damage to your phone.
